Closings loom plant in n America Toyota plants.

A spokesman for Toyota Motor Corp., said Monday it is inevitable that the company shall close its North American plants due to lack of parts of the Japan.

Spokesman Mike Goss said that the cases are likely to take place later this month, affecting approximately 25 000 workers. But he said that no layoffs are expected.

He said the length of the cases is unknown and depends on the speed of the Japanese earthquake parts plants get damaged resume operations of.

Toyota gets about 15 percent of its parts of the Japan for cars and trucks built in North America.

The company has more than a dozen North American plants including three assembly plants in Ontario.
