Despite its magnetic field, the Earth loses its atmosphere in the room of the same height as the planet, which is missing from this line of defence against the solar wind. Scientists begin now to questions, whether a planet of atmosphere keep magnetic fields vital to help, really are. Upcoming missions, such as for example the NASA MAVEN mission to Mars, helps astrobiologists understand how it is connected to the loss of planetary atmospheres of solar activity. The work could shed new light on how a planet habitability does from its local space environment.
