British divorce lawyers have words of warning for Prince William: not all fairy tales have happy endings.

The prince is set to sea his love of long date Kate Middleton on 29 April, but if history is a guide, divorce lawyers say that the second line to the British Throne would be well advised to sign a prenuptial agreement.

"It's an absolute statistics revealed that a prenuptial agreement would be very beneficial in this case," said divorce lawyer James Stewart of the sleeves firm, which handled the case of several millions of divorce between Madonna and Director Guy Ritchie.

Royal family of Great Britain was ruined by a string of marriages failed. Three of the four children of Queen Elizabeth II were divorced and uncle William on his mother, Charles Spencer, two ex-wives.

Prince William Office refused to comment on the question of whether the future King could sign a contract before marriage.

Although the prenuptial agreements are common to the United States, in Britain, they remain rare for most of the couples - regardless of whether the Royal family. British courts have agreed to recognize these deals in the last year, after that a series of awards high - profile divorce gave London a reputation as the "capital divorce of the world".

Stewart said Britain's royals must recognize that when it comes to divorce, they are just as commoners under U.K. law. And with large quantities of royal wealth probably tied up in trusts, which can be difficult to obtain access to, it is important to hammering the details now just in case where, said.

"In the 21st century, it is a real need for any couple in the public arena to enter into a prenup correctly drawn up," said Stewart.

Need look no further than the very ugly - and public - shared between the parents of William, Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Former Prince's financial advisor, Geoffrey Bignell, said newspaper Sunday Telegraph of Britain in 2004 that Diana "led to the cleaners" and claimed that Charles recovered from his personal fortune together - widely reported to be today, more than $ 27 million - when their marriage ended after 15 years in 1996.

But it is not at all certain that an ex-wife are going to do the household. After her divorce from Prince Andrew, 1996 after 10 years of marriage, Sarah Ferguson has complained that its regulations today reported $ 1.3 million is lean. Years later, she believes have hired Attorney of Diana to negotiate a much larger divorce settlement after dealing with crushing debt.

But just as history does not mean that the royals will think twice: Charles is widely reported having ignored legal advice, and chose to go without a prenup when he married his second wife, Camilla, in 2005.

While some say that it is sticky to talk of divorce to a happy time as a marriage, such an approach is an evil necessary, said Matthew Brunsdon Tully, Professor of law of the family at the London School of Economics and the practising divorce attorney.

Divorce can be expensive, time-consuming, stressful and public - all symptoms a prenup can help mitigate, giving a sense of security on both sides, he said.

"A prenup could be seen as anathema to the idea that the vow of marriage is supposed to be for life... but you cannot ignore the statistics," said Brunsdon Tully. With the rate of divorce to unprecedented heights "it is probably prudent people to at least think about what might happen."

What is at stake?

William can take advantage of the legacy of the Queen, whose fortune was recently estimated to be $ 467 million autour by the Sunday Times 2010 "rich list." The second line to the British Throne received a share of the estate of his mother Diana nearly 34 million dollars - from most of his divorce settlement, but it is believed that a large part of his money is tied to trusts.

Middleton comes from a well-to-do family itself but any agreement would need to ensure that it is neat, followed her home and its standard of living, said experts. He would very probably be generous to ensure that the prenup is not challenged as unfair after a divorce.

"They would want to ensure that things are done by the book to keep from the public sphere," said Tully Brunsdon.

A confidentiality clause would also be a must, Stewart added, noting that "the last thing that this family would" would be a glittering interview - which is similar to that given by Diana just before the divorce — which exposes the inner workings of the Royal family.

"Kate joins a family known as 'The company' and all other employees of the Royal House has a contract of employment which includes a severe enough gagging clause," Stewart said.

Other European royals have signed prenups. The Princess Victoria the Sweden signed a prenuptial with his former personal trainer Daniel Westling and husband who said that it would only be entitled to half of the couple's private households possessions in a divorce - step legacy of Victoria or its income.

Despite the presumed benefits, London celebrity divorce lawyer Raymond Tooth is not convinced William and Middleton will sign an emergency plan. He pointed out that they are familiar with for a long time, saying: "it is not a recent romance Vortex" at risk of bursting suddenly.

In addition, teeth think if an agreement has been signed, there are rumours now.

"It would have fled if there is one," said dent. "nothing is secret anymore.".
