Colorado authorities could help see similarities with Columbine High school massacre shooting after a fire forced the evacuation of a shopping centre two kilometres from the campus.
Like Columbine, an unexploded pipe and propane tanks bomb were found Wednesday at Southwest Plaza Mall in Littleton.
In addition, the blaze has coincided with the twelfth anniversary of the fatal shooting which caused the death of 12 students and a teacher.
"We are concerned about the date, time, things of this nature, but we do not have something solid that would indicate a link any at all other than, of course, the circumstances," Jefferson County Sheriff Ted Mink, said Thursday.

No one was injured in the commercial centre, and has not detonate the bomb. The Mall reopened Thursday. Security guards were on patrol, but that seemed to be a normal day of shopping.
"It is not logical, but of course would not make sense if it was the work of a person crazy," Cheryl Jenkinson has stated that she pique-niqué with his family near Columbine campus in a park which is the site of a memorial for those killed in the shooting of 1999.
The shopping centre is visible since the Memorial that stands at the top of a hill.
"I'm going shopping," Jenkinson said the shopping center. "" "". "I came here for that Littleton has to offer, not Columbine".
Mink said that the community should not feel threatened by the incident at the Mall, suggesting that he was being progress in the investigation.
"This is not a situation where we do not have a good handful of the direction we go," he said, refusing to elaborate.
The two tanks of propane at Southwest Plaza Mall have been discovered in the corridor of the Court of food after the fire was reported on Wednesday at 11: 50.
The Columbine shooting begins at 11: 19 a.m. and ends at 12: 08 pm on April 20, 1999, with the adolescent suicide two bandits. Unexploded bombs pipes and tanks of propane with attached explosives were found in the cafeteria of the school after the shootings.
