Mike Ananny, postdoctoral scholar at Microsoft research and a fellow at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & society, writes in the Atlantic about a strange Android app discovery:

how I phone yesterday was installed Grindr on my Android, I scrolled at a glance "related that on the list" and "relevant" applications. My jaw dropped. First was created by Life360, with which on the list "Sex offender search," a free application you "sex offenders in your area to find and protect... your child so that you can to protect your family."

I was stunned. How and why was this assignment made? What could have to do an application with others? How many potential Grindr were users download the application, because she saw this as an associated application of dissuade? Essentially: Who's this link, how it works and what harm does it?
