The infectious diseases society of America recently one list of policy proposals to combat the growing threat of antibiotic resistant bacteria. One of the proposals: wholesale buyer of antibiotics a fee users. Most of the money to finance the development of new antibiotics would go - something that Big Pharma will pay much attention to because it is not terribly profitable. It is an interesting idea and one that (specialized journalist, antibiotic resistant superbugs) thinks Maryn McKenna has merit.
At the DC event plague (through resistance and drug development), compared Dr. Brad Spellberg, author of rising the fee to something, what you, would pay at the gate of the National Park. "We must think of antibiotics as a valuable, limited resource, the ways and means, such as, the we the forests and fisheries-something that we think to protect and restore," he said.
The interesting thing I see here: the proposed fee for medical and agricultural users would be addressed. This is a big deal. Several people pointed out during the Conference to the world, the routine use of antibiotics is on animals healthy significantly on resistance to antibiotics. So is the unnecessary use of antibiotics by people - take these bacteria-centric drugs that often in response to viral infection, such as colds. Perhaps a user fee would discourage people with precious antibiotics as placebos. I would charge a higher fee for agricultural users user of the frivolous use of antibiotics and forcing farmers, increase more secure ways to find animals.
